HUGE private room & bathroom in beautiful neighborhood
TLDR: * Huge room & bathroom to yourself * Neighborhood is beautiful, safe, and an easy commute to campus. * Utilities/internet split evenly 3 ways * washer(new)/dryer/AC * Large backyard with garden & decorative lighting * 2 miles from the... largest makerspace in Colorado * fully stocked kitchen (appliances, dishes, etc.) * everything in house is furnished except for your room * Available starting early July
Do you love dogs but can't justify the responsibility of having your own right now? Do you seek a chill house where roommates don't hate each other? Do you enjoy trash TV night with guilty pleasure shows like Below Deck? Do you have no shame in your shenanigans when playing with dogs, including all the voices?
If you like what you just read, then maybe we should chat.
We have a HUGE room for rent in a beautiful neighborhood. We are located in SW Longmont, right off of the Foothills highway and Airport rd. The LOBO trail is less than half a mile from the house, and the neighborhood is nothing but walking trails. We know all of our neighbors, and everyone looks out for one another (and they have proven that!). I truly cannot say enough good things about this neighborhood. It is quiet, but there are local events--in the neighborhood and the downtown area. Downtown Longmont has a great mix of food, bars, pubs, etc. There's a local cidery, brewery, and distillery if that's your jam. We also have a subscription with the Longmont dairy -- so we get farm fresh milk, lemonade, and eggs delivered. You are more than welcome to jump on board with that. I'll just say that I didn't know rootbeer milk was a thing; it sounded gross, but now it's one of my favorite things.
We prefer another woman, but would possibly be open if the fit was right.
The physical details: You will have a room that is the same size as the master bed. You will have your own bathroom, with the exception of when guests visit. The guest room is also shown in the photos, and you will have equal access to that as well! Our rule is if you use it, you clean the sheets and the room when your guests leave, so easy peasy (it's a split king and can be set up as 2 twins or a king).
The driveway parking is not available, but you can park directly in the front of the house. Our street is wide and quiet, so there won't be any trouble for you parking there. It’s the kind of street where you are fine if you forget to lock your car (as I’ve proven more than once).
We have a washer and dryer (with the bonus of the washer being less than 3 months old, it's pretty fabulous lol). There's an office down by my room and another upstairs by the master and your room. We also split chores evenly and swap tasks weekly to keep it fair for everyone 🙂
This house has TWO AC units, one for the upstairs, and one for the basement/main floor. So, the house never gets insanely hot in the summer.
Financial details: Rent and bills are all split evenly 3 ways. Rent & deposit is 1050, and then we split the utilities/gas/internet/pest bills evenly. The summer tends to be the most expensive due to watering (not our choice as renters).
The total utilities are usually 100-150 per person, except for summer due to required watering (cheaper in fall/winter/spring than summer). Every third month it will be 50 more for the pest service.
You will have to do a rental application with the property management company (or you can provide your own tenant screening report and bypass the fee like I did). The owners like to do background checks and ensure they aren't taking a risk.
About us: Two women and two dogs. We respect each others space, but we are definitely friends and hope to find someone who also likes to hangout. We are both full time students at CU Boulder -- I'm in a student vet in the dual masters program for engineering, and the other roomie is in the chemistry PhD program (so, we are not undergrads and do not have parties). The dogs will want to bond with you, and if the bond is right, they will routinely come visit you. They are very silly and love a good butt scritch. If you don't want them in your space, they will respect that if you put boundaries in place. They are VERY well trained.
I love to travel and take spontaneous roadtrips. I'm into photography, and I'm obsessed with photographing the Auroras. I'm an outdoors kid and is slowly getting back into hiking, snowshoeing, and running (but it is slowww--thank you USMC for the injuries lol).
My roommate is super chill and loves to play D&D on Sundays with her friends in other states. We have a ton of games but have still not planned a game night (slacking, I know). Her family comes to visit once in a while, and you are guaranteed to fall in love with them.
420 friendly as long as you smoke outside in the fairy garden (we have the most lit yard in the neighborhood and are proud of that title). Supporters of being good human beings to others and believe everyone deserves equal civil rights. Also, you WILL have your own stocking when we decorate for Christmas.
I think that's everything, but I can fill any questions in as needed! Let me know if you want to set up a time to come see the house and meet the two of us that are staying (and of course, the stars of this show — the dogs)
